Alcalde Manuel Jiménez anuncia intervención de la avenida Barceló afectada por lluvias de Grace
SANTO DOMINGO ESTE, RD
El alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, anunció este lunes la intervención, junto al Ministerio de Obras Públicas, de la Avenida Barceló, próximo al río Ozama, la cual sufrió un derrumbe en uno de sus tramos a causa de las lluvias provocadas por la tormenta Grace.
Recordó que esa vía fue recuperada recientemente por la Alcaldía, pero que los aguaceros de los últimos días generados, tanto por la tormenta Fred como Grace, provocaron la saturación del terreno.
El derrumbe se produjo en dirección Este de la avenida, cuyas aguas que pasan por el lugar terminan en el río Ozama, señala un comunicado del cabildo.
“Será una intervención muy profunda y puntual, que será tratada con gaviones y concreto toda esta parte que ha sido derrumbada. Vamos a permitir un poco el paso, pero se colocarán señales para que los vehículos no se aproximen a esta parte”, indicó el alcalde.
Jiménez visitó el lugar la mañana de este lunes, como parte de los trabajos de supervisión de zonas vulnerables que han sido afectadas por las lluvias de Grace.
Traslado de familias vulnerables
El recorrido también incluyó la visita al albergue que está ubicado en la Escuela Elvira de Mendoza, de la avenida Venezuela, donde ayer fueron llevadas al menos 15 familias que fueron trasladadas desde sus hogares del barrio Rivera del Ozama, como medidas preventivas ante el riesgo de derrumbe.
Se recuerda que en este lugar cinco familias se vieron afectadas cuando sus viviendas fueron destruidas por un derrumbe causado por las lluvias de la tormenta Fred el pasado jueves.
Jiménez también supervisó los trabajos de limpieza de escombros y árboles que cayeron la madrugada de hoy en la Avenida El Faro, donde un equipo de la Dirección de Aseo Urbano acciona para despejar el lugar y evitar contratiempo en los usuarios de la vía.
El alcalde aseguró que los equipos de las distintas direcciones del Ayuntamiento se mantendrán en las calles dando asistencia a las comunidades que así lo requieran hasta tanto se mantengan las amenazas de lluvias provocadas por Grace.
