AYUNTAMIENTO OFRECE MISA EN LA REINAUGURADA CAPILLA DEL CEMENTERIO

Miles de ciudadanos y ciudadanas asistieron este miércoles al cementerio Cristo Salvador a recordar y rendir honor a difuntos que reposan en el camposanto sometido a un proceso progresivo de rescate y remozamiento por parte del Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este.
A primera hora, el Ayuntamiento ofreció una misa dedicada a los fallecidos, en la reinaugurada capilla del cementerio.
Entre las mejoras está, además, la construcción de la verja perimetral, así como el reacondicionamiento de cientos de tumbas que habían sido profanadas, y la construcción de un moderno osario.
“Los fallecidos necesitan descansar en un lugar digno, por eso estamos haciendo todos los esfuerzos para rescatar en su totalidad el cementerio, que antes se encontraba en total abandono”, señala la institución.
Los familiares de los fallecidos ya pueden visitar el lugar y estar tranquilos, sin el sobresalto de que cuando acudan a recordar a sus difuntos se encuentren con una tumba destruida.
El lugar también fue reforzado con un mayor nivel de seguridad, para evitar que desaprensivos acusan a profanar las tumbas.
La eucaristía fue oficiada por el capellán Nicolás Cuello Hernández, de la parroquia Nuestra Señora de Fátima, y asistieron, además, familiares de los fallecidos, así como directores y funcionarios del ayuntamiento.
