¿Califica Santo Domingo Este para insertarse en la Red de Ciudades Creativas?

El alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel  Jiménez, llegó al municipio con la visión de convertirlo en una ciudad Justa y Creativa y en tal sentido, se han comenzado a dar pasos concretos para incorporar esta localidad a la Red de Ciudades Creativas de la Unesco.

El despacho del alcalde y la Secretaría General trabajan juntos a medias docenas de direcciones en lograr que Santo Domingo Este, pueda presentar una candidatura exitosa, que le permita entrar a la importante Red de Ciudades Creativas, promovida por la UNESCO.

Según las fuentes de PlanetaRD, ya la Direcciones de Cultura y Comunicaciones tienen identificados dos campos creativos, en los cuales Santo Domingo Este puede cooperar  y competir con las demás ciudades del mundo.

Los campos creativos que se toman en cuenta son: Artesanías y artes populares, Arte digital, Cine, Diseño, Gastronomía, Literatura  y Música.

El alcalde Manuel Jiménez entiende que, la amistad y la cooperación entre ciudades es el vehículo más eficiente para extender la paz y la prosperidad en el mundo.

La Red de Ciudades Creativas fue establecida por la UNESCO en el año 2004, con el fin de promover la cooperación entre ciudades inscritas, que prioricen los emprendimientos culturales en sus programas locales, asistiendo proactivamente a nivel internacional en los aspectos sociales, económicos, culturales y naturales.

Actualmente casi 300 ciudades están incorporadas a esta red.

¿Santo Domingo Este califica en este momento para ser incorporada a la Red de Ciudades Creativa?

Tal vez si, quizás no, lo único seguro es que la alcaldía está trabajando en alianza con la comunidad, el sector público, los emprendedores locales y nacionales para que ante del 31 de octubre del 2023, la UNESCO incluya al municipio más grande de la Republica Dominicana en la lista de Ciudades Creativas.
