El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia (COE) informó que el huracán Elsa mantiene su trayectoria y podría afectar las costas sur de la República Dominicana durante el sábado.

De acuerdo al último informe, Elsa continúa moviéndose rápidamente hacia el oeste/noroeste a unos 44 kilómetros por hora, por lo que las proyecciones indican que Elsa está próximo a las costas dominicanas este sábado.

En ese sentido, el COE precisó que los vientos máximos sostenidos están en unos 20 kilómetros por hora, con ráfagas superiores y los vientos tormentosos se continúan intensificando de manera gradual.

Asimismo, en caso de arribar a territorio dominicana, Elsa estaría generando fuertes aguaceros en poblados de la costa caribeña de nuestro territorio

Ante esta situación, el COE declaró las 32 provincias bajo alerta: cinco en alerta roja, 16 en amarilla y 11 en verde.

En alerta roja están Barahona, Pedernales, Peravia, Azua y San Cristóbal.

En amarilla Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, San José de Ocoa, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, San Juan, Bahoruco, La Romana, Monseñor Nouel, La Altagracia e Independencia.
