Los esforzados regidores de Santo Domingo Este convocaron este jueves 9 de septiembre una sesión extraordinaria para la aprobación del uso de suelo a 2 plantas de combustibles en la avenida Ecológica

El uso de suelo lo solicita la misma compañía que en junio  del año 2009 le explotó una envasadora de gas, en San Isidro, la cual dejó una decena de heridos y casi todos  con lesiones permanente, además   de  viviendas destruidas

Las estaciones de combustibles que se pretenden aprobar están a menos de 500 metros de otros negocios similares

De acuerdo al requerimiento establecido por Industria y Comercio, para la instalación de una envasadora, la distancia entre una planta de gas con otra y la escuela, iglesia, teatro, cine y cualquier establecimiento similar, que concentre en un mismo local un número importante de personas, tiene que ser como mínimo de 700 metros y la de combusible a una distancia superior

Establece que el solar donde se pretende instalar el negocio esté ubicado en un lugar apartado de la comunidad que se desea servir.

También “que alrededor del solar no exista, en operación actividades tales como: taller de mecánica, garaje para vehículos, estación de combustibles, o cualquier otro negocio donde se trabaje con combustibles y/o electricidad de manera fundamental”.
