Denuncian que AFPs tumban RD$8 mil Millones a fondos de pensiones de trabajadores
Los sindicatos dominicanos denunciaron este jueves la disminución de los fondos en las cuentas de los afiliados de las Administradoras de Fondos de Pensiones (AFP), en medio de un debate público sobre el sistema de pensiones.
En las últimas semanas, los trabajadores dominicanos han perdido 8,000 millones de pesos (unos 145 millones de dólares) en sus fondos de pensiones, según cálculos de los sindicatos, lo que las AFP atribuyen a una apreciación «inusual» del peso frente al dólar.
En rueda de prensa, las centrales sindicales reprocharon la decisión de las AFP de cargar a los afiliados «la pérdida de sus ganancias» en violación a la Ley de Seguridad Social y sin que la Superintendencia de Pensiones haya hecho los cálculos correspondientes para determinar la legalidad de esa medida.
Las AFP «prefirieron no afectar sus ganancias» y «prefirieron que fueran sus afiliados, trabajadores y empleados, los que vieran disminuir sus ahorros lo que les afecta lo acumulado para sus pensiones», afirmaron los sindicatos en una nota leída a la prensa.
Esto, señalaron, a pesar de que el porcentaje de rentabilidad de las AFP que operan en el país es de «los más altos de la región».
La Asociación Dominicana de Administradoras de Fondos de Pensiones (Adafp) explicó esta semana que el rendimiento de las inversiones de los fondos de pensiones no es fijo, pues varía de acuerdo con el comportamiento del mercado y de la economía.
Asimismo, la patronal de los fondos de pensiones opinó que «el impacto causado» por la apreciación del peso frente al dólar se prevé que sea transitorio.
La polémica se produce en pleno debate público sobre la reforma del sistema de pensiones, creado en 2001 y que cedió la gestión de las pensiones a fondos privados.
Organizaciones sociales y sindicales del país han propuesto reestructurar todo el sistema de seguridad social y las pensiones, mientras que otras favorecen nacionalizarlo.
Tras el inicio de la pandemia se generó en el país un debate sobre la posibilidad de obligar a las AFP a entregar a los trabajadores el 30 % de sus fondos de pensiones, para hacer frente a la crisis, una propuesta que llegó al Congreso Nacional pero no ha logrado el apoyo para ser aprobada.
La Adafp, por su lado, ha presentado una iniciativa para lograr un sistema de pensiones «más eficiente y solidario» y entre cuyas principales propuestas está llevar la edad de retiro de 60 a 65 años.EFE
