COMIENZA PROCESO DE SUSTITUCIÓN DE EMPRESAS QUE INCUMPLEN CONTRATOS DE RECOGIDA

 

Como consecuencia del incumplimiento recurrente de las empresas contratistas del servicio,  el Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este asumió este lunes la gestión directa de la recogida de basura  en Cancino, Los Mina, Los Tres Brazos y los demás sectores que conforman la circunscripción 2 del municipio, con el objetivo de garantizar un servicio organizado, eficiente y sostenible.

 

La medida fue anunciada este lunes por el alcalde Manuel Jiménez,  y forma parte del plan que tiene el Ayuntamiento para ejecutar una solución definitiva al problema de la basura, asumiendo parte de la gestión y sustituyendo a las empresas que han estado incumpliendo los contratos suscritos por la administración anterior.

 

“Las empresas que no puedan cumplir los contratos serán sustituidas por equipos del mismo Ayuntamiento o  por otras empresas responsables. Acabaremos el sucio negocio de cobrar la basura y no recogerla”, declaró Jiménez, quien recientemente firmó un acuerdo con el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) con el propósito de sustituir de manera transparente a las empresas colectoras de basura que “cobran mucho, y resuelven poco”.

 

En la mañana de este lunes, bajo la coordinación de la Dirección de Limpieza y Aseo Urbano, un equipo de 20 camiones de 28 toneladas comenzó a desarrollar una logística y frecuencia de recogida que permitirá garantizar un servicio sostenido en todos los sectores de la circunscripción 2 de Santo Domingo Este. A estos camiones se suman otras 6 unidades de cama corta con capacidad de mover cerca de 6 toneladas y de moverse por calles estrechas y callejones.
