Entrevistas para visas de paseo a EEUU se reanudarán a principios del 2022

Nuevos empleados del gobierno que mejoraron sustancialmente y que ahora califican para visitar familiares en Estados Unidos tendrán en el 2022 la oportunidad de agendar su solicitud visa ese gran país.

El Cónsul General de los Estados Unidos para la República Dominicana, William Swaney, aseguró que, los servicios para la solicitud de visas de paseo en República Dominicana a esa nación estarán disponibles a principio del 2022, y reiteró que en este momento solo se están atendiendo los casos de emergencias.

“Al principio tuvimos que cerrar casi todas las operaciones, salvo las de emergencia. Paso a paso hemos ido recuperando todos los servicios y en este momento estamos casi cien por ciento abiertos, salvo el tema de que no hemos llegado al punto de ofrecer entrevistas personal para las visas de paseo y esperamos poder hacerlo al principio de 2022”, manifestó Swaney, al ser entrevistado por la periodista Lorenny Solano para el programa Dominicana Buenas Noches.

Recordó que las personas de negocios entran temporalmente a los Estados Unidos con visa B-1, mientras que aquellos que entran temporalmente por placer necesitan la visa B-2, pero que si la persona va a recibir un salario o se quedará por una larga temporada debe solicitar otra categoría de visa, por lo que recomendó visitar el portal web de la embajada en República Dominicana para que puedan obtener información detallada sobre todos los procesos.

Indicó, que la unidad de visas de inmigrante ha reanudado sus operaciones de manera limitada y aunque existen retrasos para otorgar algunos tipos de visas, el único servicio que se encuentra detenido actualmente es el de la B-1 y B-2 , que son quienes necesitan entrevista personal

“De todas formas, al pasado mes de octubre procesamos 3,000 visas de inmigrantes pese a que seguimos en Covid, y vamos a continuar trabajando para superar los retrasos porque hay mucha gente que está esperando y el proceso para solicitar una visa no ha parado jamás y por eso sigue creciendo los retrasos”, precisó.

William Swaney, agregó además, que nuestro país se encuentra en el puesto número dos entre los países del mundo en materia de visas de inmigrantes, debido a que solo en México otorga una mayor cantidad de visas que la República Dominicana: “Es una cifra impresionante, 60 mil por año, es una cantidad enorme”.

El cónsul sostuvo que hasta la fecha la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en el país ha venido otorgando 1,500 renovaciones por semana, sumando 6 mil cada mes: “Hemos ampliado el criterio para poder renovar la visa para hacerlo más fácil y facilitar la eficiencia de nuestro servicio porque sabemos que dado a los retrasos no podemos brindar el servicio que queremos ofrecer”, destacó.
