Eran las 8:03 am cuando El doctor Ariel Roja le pregunto al señor Luis – ¿La madre o el niño? –Doctor ¡salve mi hijo!

Milagros no pudo escuchar el grito del pequeño Nicolás, quien nació para llevarle la vida.

Sin pérdida de tiempo la madre fue enterrada ese mismo día y de camino a su vivienda Don Luis comenzó a recordar la relación con su difunta esposa.

Ella era hija única de la familia más rica del pueblo y a pesar de su belleza se caso muy tarde, ya que fue una joven dedicada por completo a los estudio.

Su abuela  estuvo en el grupo de adolescentes que confeccionaron una bandera de Nicaragua para que su maestra Ercilia Pepín se la enviara al prócer nicaragüense Cesar Augusto Sandino.

Don Luis recordó que   esa nieta de sangre valiente estaba casi quedada y con 28 años  se caso con él

El joven Luis era un  pobre hijo de uno de los empleado de la finca y los padres accedieron casarla con un ese infeliz, porque los comentarios de jamonas dañaban la reputación de la familia y había por todo los medio que casar a su hija.

Milagros era hija única de los hacendados y  cuando tenía 18 años su s padres le permitieron el capricho de  adoptar una niña huérfana, tal vez mantenía la inocencia de seguir jugando con muñeca.

El  mismo día de su muerte por parto esa niña adoptada que trataba como hija   cumplía 15 años y además esa era la fecha en que se cumplían los nueves días del  supuesto accidente en la camioneta que  perdieron la vida los padres de Milagros.

¡De repente su pensamiento se interrumpieron cuando vio en el frente de la casa a Santita llorando la pérdida de su madre adoptiva y la boca se le hizo agua al ver el cuerpazo de la joven.

Su más bajas pasiones llegaron a su cerebro y sin titubeo le  dijo – Como cristiana debe hacer la última voluntad de tu madre, ella me lo pidió antes de morir.

Santita con los ojos llenos de lágrimas dijo -Si haré su voluntad, la que sea, hasta dar mi vida y juntarme con ella.

– Ella me pidió que me case contigo para que su hijo no crezca sin una madre y debe ser rápido.

Al tercer día  del entierro con el cadáver de milagro fresco se casaron, pero tuvieron que esperar 5 años para que Santita saliera embarazada y otros tres años para que le naciera su segunda hembra.

El nacimiento de las dos niñas no impidió que santita amara a su hijastro Nicolás.

Los años pasaron y cuando el joven Nicolás llego a los 20 años el padre le dijo – Hijo ya es hora de que te case y te tengo una novia de buena familia como nosotros para que me de mi primer nieto y quererlo mas que todo el mundo – Papa tiene razón debo casarme, pero yo voy a querer a mis hijo más que tu.

El padre responde – Los nietos se quieren más que a los hijos.

Al mes de la conversación Santita salió embarazada y por su edad se preveía un alto riego y entre recaída y malestares terrible fueron pasando los meses y en la etapa final Santita comenzó a temer por su vida y le contó al joven Nicolás como nació él y cuál fue la elección de su padre, así mismo le pidió al joven que tratara de estar presente el día del parto porque no quería que el viejo Nicolás repitiera la decisión de hace 21 años.

–  Hijo no puedo condenarla a morir, ella es mi compañera y yo lo tengo a ustedes y hace 21 años te elegí a ti porque era mi primer hijo y este no será mi primer hijo. – ¡Pero es tu primer nieto!
