Los Farallones pertenecen al Gran Parque de las Américas, un área protegida que envuelve especies nativas y endémicas. Su principal importancia medioambiental radica en que su subsuelo funciona como un almacén de agua subterránea que suple a los residentes en Santo Domingo Este.
