la embajada dominicana en España se ha propuesto hacer las diligencias, con el apoyo del gobierno dominicano, para que España impulse la eliminación del visado a los dominicanos que viajen por menos de 90 días. Las razones para este esfuerzo son obvias, y si usted ha viajado a España, lo sabe.

Ya sea que quiere conocer España en sus vacaciones de 15 días, o que tenga un viaje de negocios por una semana, si es dominicano, debe presentar en la Embajada de España en el país una serie de documentos muy específicos. Todo, para obtener un permiso que con la mejor de las suertes durará máximo tres meses (y con la peor, los días que dure su viaje).

Los únicos países de la región a los que se les exige visado de corta duración, además de la República Dominicana, son Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador y Haití.

Los visados Schengen de corta duración tienen un límite de 90 días. Dentro de esa categoría está el visado turístico, visado de negocios, visita médica, estudios por un periodo inferior a los 90 días, para miembros de la familia de un ciudadano de la Unión Europea, y para marinos en tránsito.

Los documentos básicos que forman los requisitos para visado de estancia corta son:

  • Formulario de solicitud de visado Schengen debidamente cumplimentado (original y copia).
  • Copia de la cédula de identidad.
  • Pasaporte con una validez de 6 meses en el momento de la solicitud, con al menos dos hojas en blanco y copia del pasaporte completo.
  • 2 fotos 2 x 2 en fondo blanco.
  • Reserva de vuelo de ida y vuelta.
  • Acreditación de alojamiento en España. Esto se refiere a una reserva de hotel o carta de invitación de la Policía de España, en caso de que se vaya a hospedar con amigos o parientes.
  • Acreditación de los medios económicos para su sostenimiento en España. Es decir, usted debe demostrar que tiene suficiente dinero disponible para estar en el país durante el período de tiempo que está solicitando el permiso. ¿Cómo? Debe acreditar la cantidad diaria de 73,59 euros, multiplicado por el número de días que pretenda permanecer y por el número de personas que viajen a su cargo. Dicha cantidad ascenderá en todo caso a 661.5 euros por persona (90% del SMI bruto), con independencia del número de días que viaje.
  • Seguro médico de viaje individual o colectivo con las condiciones Schengen. Debe abarcar todo el tiempo de estancia, y cubrir los posibles gastos de repatriación, la asistencia médica y hospitalaria de urgencia, y el traslado de los restos mortales en caso de fallecimiento, con cobertura mínima de 30 mil euros.
  • Acreditación de arraigo laboral. Documentación que puede presentar: Contrato de trabajo, certificado de TSS (Seguridad Social en R. Dominicana) donde conste el tiempo trabajado para las distintas empresas, el salario que percibe y la cotización obligatoria a efectos de SS; o RNC si es propietario/a de alguna empresa, así como copia del modelo PSI-1 declaración jurada de procedimiento simplificado basado en ingresos que emite la Dirección General de Impuestos Internos en R. Dominica.
  • Documentación que acredite que cursa estudios y que es dependiente de sus progenitores (en caso de ser estudiante).
  • Documentos adicionales de acuerdo a su caso (títulos de propiedad, poder notarial de autorización para viajar para los menores, cuentas bancarias, acta de matrimonio si el cónyuge está cubriendo los gastos del viaje, etc.)
  • Pago de la Tasa Consular.

En el caso de visado para marinos en tránsito se piden algunos documentos aparte:

  • Pasaporte con una validez mínima de 12 meses.
  • Acreditar estar en posesión de los títulos de formación, legalmente establecidos y que se recogen en el anexo I del Código de Formación del Convenio STCW-2010.
  • Carta de invitación de las agencias marítimas dirigidas al Consulado de España y avalando dichas solicitudes. En el caso de ser agencias marítimas españolas, deberán hacer constar el nombre y la dirección de la agencia del país de origen del marino con la que colabora.
  • Contrato de empleo debidamente firmado y sellado.
  • Certificado médico para marítimos expedido por el Instituto Social de la Marina, u órgano asimilado en R. Dominicana, que acredite que el interesado es apto para el embarque (conforme a la regla I/9 del anexo del Convenio STCW y la sección A-I/9 del código STCW).
  • Remisión a la Oficina Consular de España por parte de las comisarías de los puestos fronterizos (aeropuertos y puertos marítimos) el impreso que figura en el ANEXO IX del Código de Visados (impreso para marinos en tránsito sujetos a la obligación de visado).

Las tasas consulares

Los visados Schengen cuestan 5 mil 76 pesos en la actualidad. En el caso de los menores de edad de 6 a 12 años, tiene un costo de 2 mil 538 pesos, mientras que de 0 a 6 años están exentos del pago de tasa consular
