Por segundo día consecutivo el Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este (ASDE), la oficina de Proyectos Especiales y Estratégicos de la Presidencia (PROPEEP) y la Liga Municipal Dominicana (LMD) continuaron este viernes un operativo dirigido a eliminar cientos de basureros que han provocado una crisis sanitaria en este municipio.

 

La “Ruta de la Limpieza”, como ha sido denominado el operativo, ha abarcado los sectores Villa Liberación, La Toronja, La Grúa de Mendoza, Invivienda y Perla Antillana así como la carretera de Mendoza, próximo a la Charles de Gaulle, la calle Antonio Guzmán Fernández y la carretera Mella (frente al batey de El Almirante), dice una nota del ASDE.

 

Agrega que luego se continuará descongestionando el transfer o vertedero de cielo abierto localizado en Cancino Adentro, a orillas del rio Ozama, y será creado un nuevo sistema de rutas y frecuencias con camiones alquilados en la zona de Cancino, la de mayor población en Santo Domingo Este.

 

El Cabildo afirma que la crisis actual ha sido provocada por un incumplimiento de un contrato de recogida de basura suscrito por la Compañía de Limpieza Urbana (COMLURSA).

 

“Una vez que termine el operativo, que tendrá una duración de 45 días, el Ayuntamiento integrará a la recogida de basura en el municipio 25 nuevos camiones compactadores, que fueron adquiridos en Japón y que están en proceso de traslado hacia la República Dominicana”, añade.
