El director del Servicio Regional de Salud Metropolitano (SRSM), doctor Edisson Féliz Féliz y el director Nacional de Medicamentos del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), licenciado Omar García, por disposición del director del SNS, doctor Mario Lama, socializaron la implementación del plan piloto sobre el Sistema Informático de Administración Logística de Medicamentos e Insumos (SALMI).

El director Nacional de Medicamentos del SNS, explicó que SALMI es un sistema informático único en toda la red pública, el cual está armonizado y homogenizado con el marco legal del Sistema Único de Gestión de Medicamentos e Insumos (SUGEMI). Además, cuenta con el apoyo del Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas (FPNU).

García precisó que el SALMI es una plataforma en la cual todos los hospitales y centros de primer nivel de atención, a través de sus regionales, estarán conectados en tiempo real para conocer la disponibilidad de medicamentos e insumos en todo el país.

Sostuvo que en el caso del SRSM, considerada región modelo por su fortaleza, se podrá ver en red los 37 hospitales que la integran y a futuro los centros de primer nivel de atención conectados al almacén.

García destacó que dentro de los beneficios del SALMI está: tomar decisiones a tiempo, conocer la disponibilidad de medicamentos e insumos, saber cómo redistribuirlos, garantizar y fiscalizar un uso racional de los mismos, proporcionar una prescripción adecuada, asegurar la mejora y el acceso de medicamentos al pueblo dominicano.

Indicó que proveer medicamentos a los usuarios es uno de los ejes principales del gobierno del Presidente de la República, Luis Abinader Corona.

De su lado, el director del SRSM, doctor Féliz Féliz, dijo sentirse agradecido de que esta regional fuera la elegida por el director del SNS, doctor Mario Lama,  para la  implementación del  plan piloto del SALMI.
