Lo mató el toque de queda

Cuando Juan el gordo retornaba de llevar a su hermana  Raquel  se dio cuenta de que ella había dejado en el vehículo dos cajas de pastilla que usaba para la gota.

Eran las 8:14 y tenia justo el tiempo para devolverle a su hermana la Fenitoina y el Fenobarbital y volver  de nuevo a su hogar.

De regreso a la casa, se le  reventó un neumático, justo frente al Banco de Reservas de Los Mina y con la ayuda de un vigilante dejó el carro frene a una tienda de uña china  y faltando 3 minutos para  el toque de queda debía hacer el trayecto a pie hacia su hogar, en  Katanga.

El gordo estaba asustado,  sabía que con ese historial  médico de un pre infarto, hipertensión crónica y un marca paso no resistiría amanecer preso.

Cruzando la San Vicente  se le aceleró el corazón de mala manera, al toparse con la luz de un foco en sus ojos y una voz que le preguntaba -¿Usted es médico o periodista?

El instinto de conservación lo ayudo a reaccionar rápido y respondió, sacando de su cartera un billete de quinientos pesos y con voz suave dijo –Si, soy periodista, este es mi carnet.

El policía guardó diplomáticamente la   papeleta verde y le dijo que podía irse.

Minutos más tarde dos agentes pidieron al afortunado policía que repartiera lo que le entregó Juan y el comesolo le dijo que aun tenían tiempo de caerle atrás al gordo y pedirle lo del desayuno, porque el solo entregó lo de la cena.

Los agentes se montaron en el motor y vieron las calles de Katanga con personas tomando cervezas y sin mascarillas, pero ellos querían ubicar a Juan, porque de seguro  tenía el bolsillo lleno de papeletas.

Juan el gordo le daba gracias a Dios, mientras  cruzaba la Marta Cruz  conforme, porque a pesar de darle sus únicos quinientos pesos al policía, él dormiría en su cama, pero una voz estridente, le provocó un enorme dolor en el tórax, sentía que la pata de un elefante le oprimía el pecho.

Cayó al suelo y casi sin aliento le dijo a los policías -por favor llamen al 911, los vecinos  que estaban bebiendo en la calle se amontonaron y  disimuladamente, los policías se marcharon.

Al minuto un enfermero borracho que priva en medico le tomó el pulso y dijo –Esta muerto, le dio un infarto, pero el diagnostico  fue contradicho por una voz que salió de la oscuridad. Era Alcanfor, un pipero que se mantenía despierto de noche y de día.

Los vecinos dejaron solo al enfermero y miraron con rostros  de interrogación  al– joven pipero

Alcanfor vio el momento en que los policías le gritaron al gordo que estaba preso.

Sin dar  más explicación dijo – El no murió de un infarto, a Juan lo mató el toque de queda.

Los chismosos del barrio intentaron que abundara, pero él se fue rápidamente, porque del bolsillo del muerto cayó una moneda de 10 pesos y eso era exactamente lo que le faltaba para comprar algo esa noche,  para comprar su segunda piedra de crack.
