Abinader responde a Leonel, dice trabajadores pueden comprar mas pollos que en el 2011
Según la nómina de enero del 2023 casi el 30% de los empleados del ayuntamiento del DN devengan un salario 8,500 pesos mensuales y otros ayuntamientos del interior del país, el salario mínimo en este año oscila entre 2,500 2, 645.
Las nóminas de instituciones publicas y privada contradicen afirmaciones del presidente de la Republica sobre salario mínimo.
El presidente Luis Abinader en clara repuesta al doctor Leonel Fernández afirmó que la demagogia no puede sustituir la realidad y que en la actualidad se pueden comprar más alimentos con un salario mínimo que en 2011.
Los datos ofrecidos por el presidente en su discurso de rendición de cuentas sobre el salario mínimo entran en contradicción con las condiciones laborales en que viven los trabajadores dominicanos
A continuación reproducimos la parte íntegra del discurso de rendición de cuentas, donde el mandatario aborda este tema.
Unos jóvenes economistas amigos me enviaron una propuesta para un nuevo índice que se introduzca en las discusiones políticas – económicas del país, haciendo una analogía con el famoso “Big Mac Index” de la revista The Economist, en referencia a la hamburguesa de McDonald, que compara el poder adquisitivo entre monedas de diferentes países. Su propuesta es para medir el poder adquisitivo del salario mínimo dominicano en diferentes puntos en el tiempo y lo han denominado: el “Pollo Index”.
Estos jóvenes curiosos calcularon que, con el salario mínimo promedio de hoy, que es de 16,262.50 pesos, dividido entre un precio promedio de 83 pesos la libra de pollo los trabajadores dominicanos pueden adquirir 196 libras con su salario.
Sin embargo, si hacemos el mismo cálculo para el 2011: RD$7,583 pesos de salario dividido entre 55 pesos la libra del pollo de la época compraría solo 138 libras.
Es decir, los trabajadores dominicanos hoy pueden adquirir 58 libras de pollo más que en el 2011 con su salario mínimo, un 42 por ciento más.
Y si hacemos el mismo cálculo con el arroz serían un 59 por ciento más, y habichuelas un 29 por ciento más.
Por eso la demagogia no puede sustituir la realidad: La gran conclusión es que con el salario mínimo de hoy se puede consumir más alimentos que con el de 2011.
Y ojalá se animaran a calcular también el “Plátano Index”.
