Los altos niveles de estrés que con frecuencia afectan a las personas son un enemigo importante para su salud, ya que impacta negativamente el corazón y el cerebro, entre otros órganos del cuerpo.
De ahí la necesidad de que las personas aprendan a manejar sus niveles de estrés, lo cual se logra adoptando estilos de vida saludables, disminuyendo el consumo de sustancias tóxicas, haciendo ejercicios, manteniendo una alimentación saludable y acudiendo al especialista para recibir entrenamiento para el manejo del estrés.
Los detalles sobre el tema fueron abordados por los doctores Milagro Terrero Cuesta, médico cardióloga; Alejandro Uribe, director del Departamento de Salud Mental del Ministerio de Salud Pública y Elías Tejada, coordinador del Clúster del Alcohol de Salud Mental, durante el conversatorio sobre el tema “Impacto de las Emociones en el Corazón”, organizado por dicho servicio.
El doctor Uribe explicó que la hormona del estrés, el cortisol, aumenta la glucosa en el torrente sanguíneo motivando directamente el estado de estrés, por lo que se hace necesario como sociedad el manejo de esa reacción, para aprender a descargar las emociones fuertes para poder cuidar la salud del corazón.
El doctor Alejandro Uribe, director del Departamento de Salud Mental, explicó que el estrés puede generar en el organismo de los seres humanos alteraciones por las «combinaciones químicas» que alteran las emociones y sobrecarga debido al estrés acumulado.
Múltiples patologías
Asimismo, la doctora Terrero Cuesta indicó que el efecto del estrés influye en el cuerpo con múltiples patologías, que tienen un trasfondo de tensión acumulada, que producen eventos traumáticos en diferentes enfermedades.
“Este problema muchas veces es el «gatillo» que dispara varias enfermedades, es también conocido como el síndrome de tako-tsubo, llamado así porque suele ser similar a un infarto de miocardio, parecido a un síntoma cardíaco agudo, caracterizado por un fuerte y repentino evento estresante torácico de tipo isquémico”, dijo la especialista de la cardiología.
Mientras el doctor Tejada sostuvo que las emociones agradables también tienden a causar estrés, causando una descarga de catecolaminas que se liberan en la sangre cuando una persona está bajo este efecto emocional, al igual que la dopamina y adrenalina, que llegan al miocardio provocando muchas veces la muerte.
Ruta de la Salud
En otro orden, el Ministerio de Salud Pública informó que este viernes y sábado realizará las actividades de la “Ruta de la Salud: Cambia tu Estilo de Vida”, en la provincia de La Romana, a fin de seguir fomentando en la población un cambio en los hábitos alimenticios para tener una vida más saludable.
La jornada que tendrá vigencia hasta este sábado 11 será encabezada por el ministro de Salud, doctor Daniel Rivera, en la que participarán distintas autoridades de Salud, munícipes y otras personalidades.
El doctor Rivera llamó a la población de esta demarcación del este del país a participar masivamente en las diferentes actividades, que buscan prevenir y cambiar los indicadores de enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles como la diabetes, obesidad e hipertensión, entre otras.
Las actividades se realizarán en el club Virgilio Castillo Chola de esta localidad incluyen: caminata por la salud, en las que se recorren diferentes sectores de la demarcación, además habrá un taller de cocina saludable, por parte de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO) y orientación sobre enfermedades crónicas y temas de promoción de la salud en sentido general, también puestos para la evaluación cardio metabólica.
En la jornada habrá tertulia con adultos mayores y embarazadas, así como rifas y donación de algunos artículos, actividades infantiles de hábitos saludables, charlas educativas para jóvenes, apertura de los servicios de salud a cargo del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), charla sobre cuidados y seguimiento a embarazada, tertulia con los adultos mayores, así como para adolescentes sobre embarazos temprano, salud mental, educación vial, tipificación y donación de sangre, entre otros servicios.
