Alcalde Manuel Jiménez anuncia compra de tercera flotilla de 50 camiones para la circunscripción 3 de Santo Domingo Este

CON LA NUEVA FLOTILLA EL AYUNTAMINTO DE SANTO DOMINGO TERMINARÁ DE DESPRIVATIZAR EL SERVICIO DE RECOGIDA DE DESECHOS

El alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, anunció este lunes el proceso de licitación para la compra, con recursos propios y sin préstamos, de la tercera flotilla de 50 camiones recolectores de desechos sólidos que darán el servicio en la circunscripción 3 del municipio a un costo de de RD$380 millones.

Con la nueva flotilla, la actual gestión del Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este concluirá el proceso desprivatización del servicio, y tendrá, por primera vez en la historia del municipio, la capacidad de dar una respuesta directa a las comunidades El Almirante, Hainamosa, Los Frailes, El Tamarindo, Cancino Adentro, Mendoza, La Ureña, Villa Esfuerzo, la Autopista de San Isidro, Brisas del Este, Invivienda, y los demás sectores que conforman la circunscripción más grande, compleja y poblada de República Dominicana.

La nueva flotilla incluye 25 camiones de 25 toneladas, 10 de 20 toneladas, 5 de seis toneladas, 10 camiones volteos de 4.5 toneladas, y 10 trimotores.

Según explicó el alcalde Manuel Jiménez en una rueda de prensa junto a los presidentes de juntas de vecinos, “los camiones deberán ser todos nuevos, del año, fabricados con tecnología avanzada, como lo necesita la ciudad, que hoy da un paso histórico, ya que es el primer municipio del país que cuenta con una flotilla de camiones comprados todos de fábrica para la recogida de basura en tan solo tres años y con presupuesto propio, como resultado del saneamiento de las finanzas, la transparencia del uso de los recursos y la buena gestión administrativa”.

Desde que asumió la alcaldía en 2020, Jiménez se propuso cambiar el esquema para la recolección de los desechos, por lo que anunció la compra de la primera flotilla de 35 camiones que fueron integrados a la circunscripción 2 en noviembre de 2021, mientras que la segunda flotilla, de 29 vehículos similares, fue puesta en funcionamiento a principio del pasado mes de junio en la circunscripción número 1, asumiendo la alcaldía el control total en esas dos demarcaciones, solo quedando pendiente la circunscripción 3.

Un nuevo modelo
Cuando el Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este integre la tercera flotilla de camiones el municipio pasará a tener por primera vez en su historia un servicio público y de calidad, pues hasta el 2021 todas las gestiones habían preferido mantener contratos caros que no resolvían ni daban respuesta seria al problema de los desechos.

Para tener la capacidad de respuesta la gestión del alcalde Manuel Jiménez se vio obligado a poner fin a la relación contractual heredada con empresas que ni siquiera contaban con camiones para cumplir sus responsabilidades.

Hasta el momento en las circunscripciones donde el Ayuntamiento ofrece el servicio de manera directa el ahorro económico es cercano al 50%, y ha permitido que, sumando el aumento de las recaudaciones de arbitrios, el cabildo pueda ir comprando los equipos nuevos, del año, y con recursos propios.

“Trabajamos con transparencia y en serio para darle a la gente el servicio que exige y merece”, indicó Jiménez en la rueda de prensa.
