Jiménez exhorta a la ciudadanía a integrarse a las jornadas de prevención del dengue

El alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, informó este jueves que todos los equipos del Comité Municipal de Prevención y Mitigación de Riesgos de la demarcación se mantendrá en alerta y desarrollando trabajos preventivos ante la alta saturación de los suelos y la posibilidad de crecida del río Ozama.

En una de rueda de prensa, Jiménez explicó que, fruto de los trabajos preventivos que se desarrollan durante todo el año, las cañadas de Santo Domingo Este mantuvieron una correntía sin grandes desbordamientos ni amenaza a la vida de los munícipes de zonas de alta vulnerabilidad.
De igual forma el alcalde Manuel Jiménez explicó que en estos momentos el gobierno del presidente Luis Abinader apoya al Ayuntamiento y a la comunidad en los trabajos de asistencia de las familias que más han sido afectadas por los altos niveles de lluvia.
“Gracias a la Defensa Civil, la Cruz Roja, nuestro cuerpo de bomberos, la Policía Nacional y el personal del Ayuntamiento hoy no tenemos pérdidas humanas. Nos mantendremos trabajando junto al gobierno del presidente Abinader para auxiliar a los afectados de los sectores vulnerables y prevenir otros daños”, dijo Manuel Jiménez durante la rueda de prensa.
El Comité Municipal de Prevención de Riesgos de Santo Domingo Este trabaja todo el año en el mantenimiento y limpieza de cañadas y de grandes canaletas como la de la marginal de Las Américas, práctica que ha evitado, según las autoridades, mayores niveles de daños en el municipio más poblado del país. Además de las agencias citadas, también participan del Comité la Fuerza Aérea Dominicana, la Mesa de Seguridad Ciudadana, el 911, ONAMET y el Ministerio de Salud Pública.

Prevenir el dengue

El alcalde Manuel Jiménez dejó iniciados los trabajos municipales de prevención del dengue en Santo Domingo Este, e invitó a la ciudadanía a colaborar tomando medidas en los hogares, patios y áreas comunes que pudieran tener elementos para los criaderos de mosquitos.
El alcalde señaló que una vez pasan las lluvias autoridades y comunidades deben trabajar de la mano para evitar juntos la propagación de la enfermedad contagiosa del dengue.
