Los primero pasos políticos de Confesor Polanco  en el Partido de la Liberación Dominicana se iniciaron en el Comité Municipal, José Ángel Santana de   Hato Mayor del Rey

Por su destacada labor  en finanza,  propaganda y organización recibía todos los meses menciones de emulación por los integrante del  CB # 4 y en tiempo record alcanzó la categoría de miembro.

Confesor también fue un destacado dirigente de la Asociación de Clubes de la Región Este, además presidente del Club Cultural de la Sierra de Hato Mayor.

A finales de la década del 80 se traslado a Santo Domingo donde se destacó como aguerrido y leal dirigente del Comité Intermedio Mella.

Confesor  es un dirigente nacional que ha prestigiado la boleta interna del PLD en varias ocasiones como precandidato a regidor aspira a Miembro del Comité  Central en la boleta local  de su partido.

Con 41 años de militancia política sin vacaciones  dentro del PLD  todo el mundo sabe que  Confesor Polanco tiene sobrados meritos para un asiento en el Comité Central del  Partido de la Liberación Dominicana
