El alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, responsabilizó este lunes directamente al Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD), de orquestar un plan para tirar basura adrede en las calles del municipio, con la finalidad de que la población piense que es por inoperancia del ayuntamiento la gran cantidad de desechos que se visualizan en esa demarcación.

Jiménez dijo que tienen todas las pruebas de que es el PLD que está detrás de esa práctica ilegal, en acompañamiento a varias empresas de recogida de basura contratadas por el exalcalde de ese municipio Alfredo Martínez y que han sido desvinculadas por esta gestión.

Sin embargo, el edil municipal dijo que no quiere culpar a la alta dirección del PLD del supuesto sabotaje a los desechos sólidos, pero que esa decisión fue tomada a lo interno de esa organización para deslucir los esfuerzos que hace la Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Este para “mantener el municipio limpio”.

“Ese es un sabotaje evidentemente organizado, no es una cosa improvisada. Eso fue una decisión prácticamente que se tomó desde la oposición, y lo voy a decir con toda responsabilidad porque precisamente tenemos todas las pruebas: el PLD decidió que la basura la tirarán en la calle solo para que nosotros quedáramos mal y deslucir el esfuerzo que estamos haciendo”, dijo Jiménez.

Durante una entrevista en el programa El Gobierno de la Mañana, Jiménez dijo que este sabotaje tiene la intención de desmeritar el éxito que ha tenido “La Ruta de la Limpieza”, en coordinación con la Dirección de Proyectos Estratégicos y Programas Especiales de la Presidencia “Propep”, cuyo titular, el ministro José Leonel Cabrera (Neney), dijo en días pasados que habían intereses oscuros detrás de la gran cantidad de basura en las calles.

Por otro lado, Jiménez dijo que encuentra este lunes haciendo un recorrido por las distintas calles del municipio para verificar las situaciones en las zonas luego del paso de la depresión tropical Grace por suelo dominicano.

“Estamos yendo a los distintos puntos y gracias a Dios hasta ahora no ha habido nada que lamentar con vidas”.
